Out in the remote expanses of Oregon’s Outback, the weather commands absolute respect. This image captures a dramatic early summer thunderstorm rolling over the Fort Rock Museum. For a fraction of a second, a massive lightning bolt fractures the brooding, purple sky, illuminating the rain shaft and casting a surreal glow over the weathered wood of the cabins and the iconic windmill.
